Welcome to Our Programs UNITED CHURCH OF PRAISE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES, INC. is a christian Religious organization and center creating lasting change for families in need in the United States bringing hope to people from many walks of life and around the world through the word of God and Education. Our mission is to save the lost, teach and preach the word of God, also working with Children and families to solve problems they face on a daily basis in communities and society . Utilizing our spiritual gifts and skills to enhance the quality of life through preaching, teaching, educational empowerment, math skills, reading, writing, and our referral services, sponsoring educational programs, charity, events and achievements. Through our services we are able to reach out and offer hope to troubled children, single parents and families in need of shelter, education, food, clothing, health care and other services. An ongoing concern in Staten Island is that many low-income and/or minority students do not perform well in school, which has a negative impact on their ability to obtain quality jobs and life opportunities. There is a 15-point gap between overall Staten Island high school student achievement rates compared to low-income and/or minority students as documented by the NYC DOE. Many former at-risk students get married and have children early in life increasing their need for stable income and reducing the time available for ongoing academic or technical training. Many do not have or use a budget and live paycheck to paycheck in order to pay the bills and feed the family. The proposed program will give those former at-risk students who have not obtained or qualified for good jobs in the manufacturing United Church of Praise International Ministries, Inc. Thrift Store was created as a means to offer additional assistance to the community by supplying clothing, shoes, and furniture to the low-income and the unemployed. vouchers are generated based on a person's needs and distributed by the church. the participant can use the voucher to make purchases at the thrift store. This avenue of support has been successful, and has helped people who could not afford to buy those items.   Let there be peace in the land, and throughout the world, together we can do it.
